I am a 42-year-old Native American who has worked in various childcare settings. I Started as a part-time employee in an in-home daycare, and due to community need and growth, the owners purchased a childcare facility and we moved into the facility in October 1995; and the owners also employed me during school breaks; Christmas, Spring, and Summer. While attending college and living in Lawrence, KS; 2002-06, I was able to use my experience and help out families who were attending school and in need of childcare. From August 2006 to August 2007, I was a live in provider for a family who also employed me as their family provider when they moved home to North Carolina after graduating.
