Ever since I was a child myself, I have had a love and passion to nurture and care for children. I have nine years experience working with all ages from newborn to high school. I also have experience with autistic & special needs children. Since June 2013, I have served as a full-time nanny for two 3-year-old, twin boys; one living with autism. In my role of care-taker, I facilitated daily learning activates, planning and preparing meals and maintaining chores around the house. I also teach specialized activities for the child with special needs, including teaching him sign language (ASL), other means of communication and how to properly communicate feelings and desires. Healthy diet and life-skills are a passion of mine, and I have experience in preparing nutritious meals. I will graduate from Tulsa Community College Next month, (May 2014) with Associate in Arts. I am certified in CPR and Read more completed courses in child care from the Red Cross. I am know some America Sign Language. Each summer of high-school, I helped teach various age groups in a music camp program within my church, involving teaching children various lesson plans, lunch time, play time, nap time, crafts, games, etc. The summer of 2011, I worked at a summer camp as a babysitter for the camp dean's five children ages two through 8 years-old. During the summer, I spent all day with the children, designing age-appropriate activities during the day and kept a fun and safe environment for them. I worked as a Sunday school teacher in 2011 - 2012 and guided preschoolers in lesson plans, crafts, snacks, music and playtime. I am a hardworking, highly motivated and dedicated worker. I truly have a desire for guiding children in learning, playing, exploring and thinking critically in a nurturing, functional environment. Most importantly, I love what I do!
