I was a live in nanny for a record producer in Los Angeles from 2010-2012. His children were both girls, ages 2 and 4. I also spent some time sitting for celebrities (short term care) My senior year in high school I took a college level child development class. In 2001 I worked as a pre-school teacher for the YMCA in Scotia New York. I believe that children deserve one on one care. A good nanny/sitter should always teach by example. Children learn from what they hear and see so a nanny/sitter's behavior is of the utmost importance. I will never put my hands on someone else's child but instead will discipline through taking away toys,electronics etc or placing the child in time out (time out should only be one minute for each year the child is,for example: Timmy is 4 years old so his time out would be 4 Read more minutes).I encourage parents to use an app allowing them to view their children via webcam on my tablet in live time. I'm a huge fan of outdoor play (weather permitting) and hands on arts and crafts. I also believe in taking lots of photo's for parents allowing them to collect and share special moments in their child's life. I'm thirty-seven years old. I am from Basildon,England. A true Mary Poppins,you could say. I love children ( I have three of my own). And can provide quality care. I'm willing to nanny/sit at your residence I'm willing to nanny/sit at my place of residence I do not provide before and after school care ONLY- you must require at least 5 hours of care. I can provide transportation (school,doctors appointments,play dates etc) I have a 60" plasma with access to child friendly shows and movies. I have 2 ferrets in my home but I will not let them be handled by your children without your permission first. I have an extra bedroom with a bunk bed available for overnight care,if needed. It will be available until January 23rd when my children return. I am more than happy to provide a background report but at your expense. If you need outstanding,quality care for your child/children give me a try. I won't disappoint.
