My name is Lauren, and I am a recent graduate of the Marriage & Family Therapy program at Fuller Theological Seminary. I believe that providing childcare for your child is an opportunity to connect with him/her in a way that promotes their holistic development across many domains (physical, cognitive, spiritual, socio-emotional/relational, adaptive). What this means is that I truly value the individuality and personhood of your child. I love working with children and being a part of their process of growing up and learning more about the world & their identity. My experience over the years with children & teens includes: babysitting children age 1-12, nannying infants age 4 months - 1.5 years, mentoring teens, being a camp counselor & youth intern, and providing therapeutic services in counseling centers for children age 5-17 & their parents. My role as a babysitter/nanny is much different than my role as a therapist; Read more however, this educational background & experience has shaped my perspectives on caregiving and the importance of having a loving connection with children. Parents and caregivers shape the personality and all-around development of children. Children are always learning from us, and I believe that my role in your child's life is to be a loving helper, mentor, and friend to them while you work to provide for your family each day. I hope to work collaboratively with you in the care provided, by maintaining open communication about your needs as parents in relationship with your children, your hopes for them, and how I might be able to partner with you in facilitating such. Outside of the educational piece, I love to spend time with children & teens and find new, creative ways for us to have a good time together! I would be up for taking them on outings, going sightseeing, spending time outdoors, doing crafts, helping with homework, etc. It would be an honor to get to know your family and your child/children!
