I am a youngish grandmother who still adores kids of all ages. I have been doing childcare for a large portion of my entire life as well as raising three children pretty much on my own. They are all fantastic adults with grown and growing children. I feel my knowledge of children's needs for security, love and training as well as having fun is far above average. I am finishing a one year position with my current client with a delightful baby girl who is now a toddler. Their plan has always been to have her cared for at home until 18 months of age and at that time to send her to private school where her siblings go. I will miss her desperately as we are very close. I have had 2 other families in Lake Oswego, one which lasted 9 1/2 years and the other for about 6 Read more years both part-time and full time. I still often am called to help out with driving for after school activities for the latter client. I also did private day care in my home for 7 years in the past. I would prefer part-time hours with perhaps 3-4 hours a day Monday thru Friday. I feel my experience entitles me to $16-$18 per hour. I would be happy to drive your child or children to activities but at my age (even though I am very healthy) I will not be playing outdoor baseball games or any very strenuous games but love board games, puzzles, etc. for indoor fun.
