My mother has been a caregiver for 14 years. Among the time she has been working, I was babysitting my young sister. I always told myself I never wanted to work with children nor work with the elderly like my mom. As I have grown older, I found I had an act for watching over people and providing care. I have always been the go to family member trusted to watch the children since a young age. Once I turned 18, I was given the opportunity to work with dementia and Alzheimer’s patients. Once I worked my first day in the facility, I knew I had an act for it. From that day forth, I have grown to understand why my mom fell into this career path. Being able to care and watch over clients who are unable to do so for themselves has been one of the most rewarding aspects of my life. I cherish the trust, respect and friendships I build with my clients. I believe I’m a good fit for this job because I have the patience it takes to handle children, first aid and cpr certified, years of experience since a young age, and a love for helping children get the resources I wasn’t able to receive as a kid.
