Warm greetings! I have been a nanny on and off for the last 30+ years for dozens of kids, ranging from eight weeks to 12 years old. I have six children of my own. : ) Raising my kids was a joy, and the most rewarding thing I have ever done. I home-schooled for about nine years. Teaching my kids to be loving, honest and respectful people of integrity was a priority to me. We are all very close knit, and love to be around each other! I love laughing, singing, music, being outdoors, hiking, reading and baking. Most of all I love spending time with my kids but they are all grown up and as far away as China, Thailand and Maui! I encouraged them to be adventurous and see the world, and boy, are they ever! I LOVE reading to kids. I began reading to my kids before Read more they were born, and taught them to read at age two! They have an unquenchable thirst for knowledge. I attribute that enthusiasm to lots of reading from a young age and exploring this fantastic world together with excitement and appreciation. Being active outdoors and going on nature walks is extremely valuable. I love instilling a love of nature in children. I limited my kid's TV watching to "Mr. Roger's Neighborhood" because I felt they were better off having known Mr. Rogers than not. I'm planning to write a book on parenting soon. My kids are begging me to do it before they have kids so their spouses can read it and be good parents. ; ) It's a wonderful world!
