I have loved children ever since my younger sister was born when I was 9 years old. I loved taking care of her so much and she taught me a lot about patience and unconditional love. I try to create a very special friendship with each kid I care for and practice love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness and self-control while also keeping kids active, healthy and cared for at any developmental stage of their childhood. In challenging or new experiences I value and appreciate the opportunity to learn and grow for both me and the child. I really love to educate children in even the most subtle situations knowing full well the value of every lesson to a child's sponge-like mind. In the past, I've made sure to avoid vegging out in front of the TV and made sure to encourage the children in healthy learning activities (even Read more if it's just been playing in the dirt teaching them about the plants). I love to cook healthy meals (generally consisting of plenty of whole foods, natural ingredients, and little to no sugar) and practice eating together as a family. In the past, if the child is old enough to speak, I've encouraged healthy conversation at the table. I enjoy routine as children thrive in it and practicing a lighthearted but organized way of doing everyday life. Love and Logic is a parenting program I often use in my child care.
