Hello! My name is Liz and I moved to Portland from Shreveport, Louisiana a year ago to pursue a degree in secondary Art and Health teaching. I recently moved on from the program, deciding instead to research Montessori centered options. I desire to become a lead teacher, having already spent one year as a Teaching Assistant at an AMI certified Montessori School in Shreveport. I've been babysitting virtually all my life (beginning with my little brother and cousins) and nannying for the past four years. I have a Bachelors of Fine Arts with a specialty in Illustration and have been apart of puppetry shows, art installations for children and several mural projects. Last summer I traveled to Germany and spent one month WWOOFing (volunteer farming) on two goat farms; outdoor education is something I am very passionate about. I am Adult, Infant & Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED certified and familiar with Read more many parenting and teaching styles including but not limited to attachment parenting, Montessori Method, 1-2-3 Magic, and self discipline. I have recieved sensitivity and differentiation training through MAT courses and AVID training and would love to work with your special needs child. I will require a signed formal contract to begin work; I wish to make expectations as clear as possible to provide the best care possible while preventing misunderstandings. I work part time at a local bike shop during the weekends so part-time/night-time options would work best.
