I am a nurturing, playful, attentive, and patient individual passionate about children and parenting seeking a part time caregiving position with a family that will welcome the addition of my son when he's not in preschool or with Daddy. My son Loic is 3 and 1/2 years old. He has been accompanying me while I provided child care to three different amazing childen over the past two years, ages 11 to 20 month. His presence allows your child a unique socialization aspect while receiving my attentive care. I've raised my son in the "attachment parenting" style. I believe children thrive when they feel supported and comforted at each stage of development. I've also attended a positive discipline workshop. Redirection of unwanted or dangerous behavior is not about punishment, rather respectfully encouraging positive behavior. I have a B.A. in psychology from Sonoma State University in California. I am currently studying with Read more Childbirth International to become certified as a post-partum doula to provide a wide range of assistance to families after the birth of a new baby so parents can focus on bonding. My childcare approach is malleable to your family's directions and wishes. I encourage every opportunity for learning through play, taking cues directly from your children. I pride myself on providing gentle and compassionate coaching, which allow for your children's natural ability to make choices and errors strengthening their inner confidence. I value outdoor exploration and incorporate time in nature at every opportunity. I also love to facilitate creative expression through a variety of art projects and have my own materials I can bring along. I believe in baby-led weaning. My son still nurses occasionally and I advocate for your child's choice in food selection and quantity from quality sources. At my home we encourage seasonal and organic nutrition, purchasing from local farmers markets, home gardening, non gmo, and limited food processing. I am happy to facilitate a healthy food relationship to fit your family's needs. I have basic knowledge of ASL and intermediary knowledge of the French language, and can incorporate that to fit a learning child's need for practice or tutoring. I possess organizational and cleaning habits which facilitate a safe atmosphere for playing and learning.
