My mother is one of nine and so I grew up with many, many cousins. As one of the oldest, I have extensive experience caring for younger family members of all ages. During high school a spent time off volunteering at local elementary schools helping out with reading, homework, and public school integration (for preschoolers). When I studied at the University of Oregon, I worked at a childcare development center for a school year as a teacher's aide for preschool-aged children. After graduating college, I traveled abroad to South Korea and taught English at an all-girls middle school. Since returning from Asia, I have worked for Human Solutions, Inc; where I coordinated after school programs for elementary and middles school students and briefly worked at a Montessori school helping out in a toddler classroom.
