Hello :) . I have a ton of experience with kids of all ages. I have babysat up to 5 kids at a time (ages 3-11). I've been a teacher's assistant in a preschool and a special ed class of 9 children. I've tutored elementary to high school students. I taught 6th grade for 7 years and taught a whole classroom of 31 students at that time. As a parent I went to Mommy & Me classes, swimming lessons, Gymboree play classes, hosted and attended play dates, etc... I am now a parent of a teen! I enjoy being with children of all ages, but would prefer at this time to babysit or nanny for preschoolers (3 years and up) to elementary school-aged children. I like to get to know what is fun for children - what a child likes and is interested in - and then tend to do Read more those activities and activities suggested by parents. I am happy to help with homework and I especially love to teach reading and writing skills. I also like to get creative and develop fun lessons or activities for kids as well. Some of my favorite things to do with kids are art projects, crafts, cooking (healthy snacks, but sometimes cookies and pies), reading books and stories, playing educational games, listening to music and doing movement, drawing, playing out doors, being with animals, and doing yoga. I just finished 10 hours of training for how to teach kids yoga! I love the Pinterest app for finding lots of great ideas for activities/projects to do with children. I went to college at San Jose State University and San Francisco State University in California. I took lots of multicultural art classes, education, and creative writing classes. I have a Bachelor's degree in Creative Arts for Teaching, and an authorization in Art. I have an active Multiple Subject (K-8th grade) Teaching Credential in California (qualifies for Oregon as well). I am currently certified in First Aid/CPR. I have a food handler's certification. I have taken a Health & Safety for Children course for the state of Oregon. I have also taken some early childhood classes as well. My weekday times are quite flexible after 8:30 a.m. I'd prefer to work Fridays only till 5:30, but am flexible. I have my own car, but I prefer not to drive with children.
