I have a Bachelor of Early Childhood Education and a Bachelor of English Literature combined with several years of experience caring for and guiding the learning of young children. I believe that my past experience and my enthusiasm for working in the field of Education, along with the genuine joy I receive working with children makes me a strong candidate for this teaching position. While obtaining my Bachelor of Early Childhood Education at Central Washington University, I participated in a 300 hour, elementary classroom, field-experience. My field-experience was conducted in a first-grade classroom where I co-caught with a certified teacher. This experience proved to be extremely valuable as I learned how to work in a real classroom setting and I developed positive relationships with my students, their parents/guardians and my fellow teaching staff. Previously, I have worked as a co-teacher in a charter school for a 1st and 2nd grade Read more classroom as well as working as an Au-Pair in England and in the U.S.A. During my travels, the one constant theme I noticed amongst children was their curiosity and true desire to expand their knowledge by exploring the world around them. I wish to guide children in this rich exploration and in turn, hope to expand my own knowledge. Through my elementary school field experience, I learned and improved upon my classroom management skills, lesson planning ability, assessment methods, and most importantly, I developed positive rapport with my students and their families. This field-experience further cemented my innate desire to work in an Early Childhood Education environment.
