My name is Courtney Thomas. I graduated from Emory University with a BA in Psychology in 2014. I am currently attending Villanova University to pursue a Masters in Psychology. I have tons of experience working with children and adolescents, especially those diagnosed with mental health disorders. I've previously worked at Kennedy Krieger Institute, where I provided direct care for children diagnosed with autism and other neurological disorders. I also worked as a Child and Adolescent PRP Site Coordinator. I facilitate group activities related to skill-building and development. I also coordinated with mental health professionals and families to provide quality care. Lastly, I completed intakes for incoming clients. I gained experience driving a 15 passenger vehicle. During my time as a Site Coordinator, I received my First Aid/CPR certification. Both positions confirmed my passion to work with children in my future career. Both positions also solidified my knowledge of normal and Read more abnormal child development. Through both positions, I gained skills such as patience; engaging others; educating and motivating others; compassion; detail-oriented; organized; open communication; and provider of excellent customer service. More importantly, I expanded my ability to facilitate child development while making long lasting relationships with both child and family members.I am looking to apply and build upon I've learned and gained from my past experiences.
