I am currently a freshman at Grove City College, majoring in psychology. I chose this major because I want to work with kids, whether that is social work or counseling. I think that by learning how to study people, it would give me the best background for working with children, specifically underprivileged kids. I have been babysitting kids ages 2-12 for about eight years. I was a nanny for two boys one summer, which consisted of driving to and planning daily activities. I took them to the pool, the zoo, the library, and other places like that. I have done group babysitting for various ages for more than 25 kids. I have taught a kindergarten Sunday School class for the past two years.  I care for many different types of families. My three regular families consist of 3 boys ages 12, 10, and 8 and two families have a boy Read more and a girl ages 12 and 8.  I have been on nine missions' trips, focused on helping underprivileged kids. From going on these trips, I found out how much I love kids and that I want to work with them for the rest of my life.  I have taken four years of high school spanish and one semester of college spanish so I have a pretty good background on the language. When babysitting, I firmly believe that it is important for me to actually play with and hang out with the kids. I always allow kids to watch TV or play video games, but never for too long. It always depends on what the parents let their kids do. However, if parents let their kids watch TV all day, everyday, I generally make the kids play at least one game with me or go outside.  I love to play board games and sports. I love to play dolls with the girls, or whatever they want to do. With the boys I always play sports with them, even though they are all better than me! Babysitting is not a job for me; it is just a fun time that I get to hangout with kids! I would so much rather sit on the floor and play games with kids, then hangout with kids my age. Kids lives are just so much simpler and fun.
