I was an Au Pair from 2012-2014, living in Mt Airy with my host family, and my kids were a 8yoB and 12yoG (they were 6 and 10 when I got to their family). We had good professional relationship, comunication, respect and responsability were the basis. My duties were primarily kids related, especially driving, which I have a wide experience and I have never had any accidents) Im familiar with the area of Philadelphia, most of MontCo and a little Delaware. Besides looking after kids, reinforce a second language was another main duty, Im Spanish speaker. Support kids w/homework, practicing reading in english and spanish, make sure they learn and take care of their own chores at home, parents highlighted to teach kids to do things by themselves instead of doing it for them, unless they weren’t really able to, and supervise. I have earned a lot of experience in taking care of the household, errands, cooking, grocery shopping, prep for hosting holidays and social reunions, driving kids and make sure they do their chores, kids are 15yoG and 13yoB, so I dont play with them like I used to, but Im always there for them. I have experience as a nanny/sitter for yourger kids too that involved lunch/dinner time, homework supervision, library trips, driving in general as needed, play time in a safe, healthy and educational enviroment. I am the type of person that encourages children the fun and deliciousness of a healthy eating culture but I have no experience working in a household with food allergy. That, however, would not be a problem for me to look after and making a habit. I studied korean at MCCC, I am level 4 but not really fluent. I am an active person, I like to keep myself busy, I love exercising and learning. I graduated from College with mayor in Psychology before coming to the States, I have experience in children and teenager therapy. I was also a gymnastic instructor for 2-10yo children back in my country. I Currently live in Norristown area and have my own car. I am very close to the family I work for and love them and the job so much, but the quarantine and one of my employers not having a job currently have pushed me to apply to other jobs, which I’m also excited for.
