My name is Lauren, and I am an active, energetic 56 yr old woman. I have 4 grown children, ranging in age from 29-20 yrs old. As a young mother, I "nannied" for a family over the course of 8 yrs. Today our two families are still extremely close. When my children were in elementary school, I volunteered as a "cafeteria mom" for 13 consecutive years. In their middle school years I volunteered as the track and cross-country coach at their school. As my kids made their way through high school, I organized & hosted team dinners for the kids. Now I find myself an empty nester, and although I work 65-70 hrs/wk as a server at a local restaurant (a job I've had for 14 yrs-starting part-time when my youngest was in 1st grade, and gradually adding more hours as the years rolled on) I find I miss being Read more around kids. Put quite simply- I love children. I love being with them. I love their innocence, their curiosity, their energy. I want to work with kids again. I'm ready to make a "career change" and the career I want is child care.
