Hello! My name is Ashley Magliane, and I am a recent graduate from Kutztown University where I received my degree in Professional Writing with a concentration in Culture and Media Studies. Writing has been one of my passions since I was young. I used to carry around a notebook on vacation to write my stories in. Writing is a fundamental communication skill, and I would love to be able to pass it on in a fun and creative way for younger generations. Children will enjoy expressing their creativity and unknowingly be fostering stronger communication skills that make for successful adults. My culture and media skills will also enable me to relate the world and what's happening to children in a safe and easy-to-understand way. Arts and crafts, safe experiments, animals, nature, history, books, music, and film/theater/TV are all things I am very interested in and would love to incorporate into Read more fun, exciting, and educational care strategies for young children. I have had experience with children my entire life. My family is very large (my father has five siblings and my mother has six), and, as the second oldest child on my mother's side, I have been responsible for watching my cousins from a very young age. I have also watched a young boy with special needs over the past few years. Several of my previous jobs have trained me in CPR due to choking hazards for adults and children. One such job was with Jungle Fun, a smaller franchise similar to Chuck E. Cheese. I was responsible for the welfare of several children at any given time. Other duties included cleaning the play equipment, entertained children, and prepared food. My original certification as a babysitter was acquired during a course taken as a Girl Scout. I know that safety is the most important thing any parent wants for their child, and this would be one of the most important things to me as well. All activities, requests, films, stories, and potential outings would first be checked with parents or guardians. Wile creativity and fun make for a happy, intelligent child, it's nothing without the safety and security that allows them to grow and become their own people. I am interested in becoming a nanny as well, and I would love to help children develop and grow and for a strong relationship with the family, or families, I work with.
