I have been a Nanny for about 8 years working with several families. I started working with kids as a Horseback Riding Instructor through Girl Scouts of America. After that position I nannied for a family part-time while I was still in college. When I graduated I continued working as a nanny with other families. Most recently my position ended simply because the Mom wanted to take some time off from work to go back to school and her schedule would be more available. I love to have fun. I think children learn best from experience and try to provide as many opportunities as I can to cater to that. I love taking "field trips" to museums, zoos, aquariums, indoor play places, arcades, etc. I love doing a variety of activities and trying new things. As a nanny I do like to have structure. This varies from family to family, Read more some families are more structured than others, and I try to adapt my style to that of the parent(s). I feel it's best for the child(ren) if the parent(s) and nanny are consistent and on the same page. I like to promote independence and encourage children to try things on their own within their developmental stage. I have typically worked through an agency to obtain most of my positions. I am background checked and child abuse cleared. I have my own car (with highback booster seat), valid drivers license, passport and references if needed.
