I am a professional mature nanny with 12 years of experience caring for children from the ages of newborn to 11. My expertise is with newborns. I have cared for 12 newborns and adore them. I have dealt with very restless babies who cannot adjust readily to the world outside of the womb. It can be a very challenging time for babies and new parents. I have learned a few techniques that are very effective in helping newborns to settle down and learn to calm themselves. I encourage them to sit up, roll over, have tummy time, and other age appropriate activities. I love to carry them around, showing them the "baby" in the mirror, sing and dance with them and go on walks. I am a book lover myself and believe that reading to little ones is so important because enjoying reading will help them in their future lives. Read more I am not the kind of nanny who will put a child in front of the TV, but rather know that attention and interaction are most important. Plus it makes the nanny's job more enjoyable. I am kind and patient, but firm and consistent. I feel that it is important for children to have routines because this helps them to feel calmer and more secure. No child has ever been hurt on my watch. I usually take care of the baby's laundry and pick up toys, wash bottles. I also keep the kitchen in order, loading and unloading the dishwasher, wiping counters, etc. I have taken courses in Infant CPR and Pediatric First Aid. I have received the whooping cough booster and receive flu shots each year. I have excellent references and have been living in Exton since the end of August. I love pets. I live with 2 adorable ones - one a sweet older lab and the other a very active and lovable male puppy. I am looking for 2 or 3 days per week and can start immediately.
