Hi everyone! My name is Madelyn Miller and I am a Senior at the University of Pittsburgh. I am studying to become a Speech Language Pathologist and hope to someday work in hospitals or schools with children with speech and language disorders. I am originally from Johnstown and will be moving back for the summer before continuing my education in the fall. I worked at a daycare in Pittsburgh for almost 2 years taking care of children from infancy through preschool age. Through that job, I have taken CPR classes and am First Aide certified. Additionally, I babysat daily for a lovely family in Johnstown a few summers ago. The children were 6 and 9 at the time and taught me a lot about child care and responsibility. I was also involved with my church youth group helping the youth leader with what we called "4th, 5th, and 6th Grade Read more Adventure." Each week, children would arrive at the church and we would do a science experiment or go on a nature adventure then accompany that with a little spiritual/morality lesson. Lastly, I have been on 4 mission trips to Kentucky with my church where we host a bible study at night for the children of a local church. 3 of the 4 years I was humbled by the position of music director.
