Chaos- noise, drama, mess are all very familiar and comforting. When you grow up in a family of eight, you learn to love it. I am the oldest so I definitely have had more than twelve years helping to care for my siblings, including during the five year we were living in South Africa. Being a part of a big family was not enough for me though; I was not fed up with working with kids. In fact, quite the opposite, I love it. I babysat for the same family for almost two years and at times would have five kids under my wing. I have volunteered as a babysitter at MOPS, Mothers of Preschoolers, events, as Bible Vacation School that taught English to kids in Quebec, Canada, and as a Sunday School teacher for kids from ages seven to nine. I even have worked for over a year at Read more professional daycare center with toddlers all the way up to latch-key children. I have had a rich, varied experience working with children of different ages, personalities, and cultures. Working with children is one of the most important jobs in the world because you are helping people to grow into who they are and how to travel the well-worn path of life. It is no easy task to be take lightly, but one thing that working with children has taught me is that it is so worth it. Kids have a lot to to teach me about the simple joy and appreciation they find in everyday life. It is so easy to take that for granted. I am passionate about patiently and lovingly teaching children simple things like how to make their bed to more complicated ones like how to tell a loved one they have hurt their feelings. I am very loyal, a hard worker, trustworthy, thoughtful, and extremely patient. I am very confident that I will be an excellent choice for you as a nanny or a babysitter.
