My name is Chelsea Statler. I first became a caregiver in my early teens watching my siblings. Since then I have worked with children and youth in such capacities as babysitting, nannying, Sunday School, youth counseling, VBS, public schools, group homes, and daycares. I am certified in CPR, First Aid, and AED. I am trained in TBRI (trust-based relational intervention) and have both on-the-job and workshop training in working with children dealing with SPD (Sensory Processing Disorder). I am familiar with trauma-informed parenting as well. In my 12+ years as a caregiver I have cared for groups of anywhere from 1 to 5 children at a time ranging in age from 4 months to 18 years. While employed at Hillcrest Children’s Home I worked with a partner, caring for up to eight children and youth in a family-style home setting. Caring for children is near and dear to my heart. Read more It gives me great to joy to see youth reach their full potential. I enjoy arts and crafts, outdoor activities, fun trips, reading, and games. I appreciate remaining active. All of these I try to incorporate into my childcare positions. At present I am in Detroit for an part-time internship (through mid-December) and looking to supplement my schedule with caregiving. Background checks are up-to-date (within two years) and copies can be produced if requested. Letters of recommendation are also available.

We encourage parents to conduct their own screenings using the background check tools. See what each of the badges covered, or learn more about keeping your family safe by visiting the Trust & Safety Center.
