Relevant Skills: I can invent a game in under 5 seconds. I've yet to meet a sippy cup I couldn't reassemble. I am an accomplished car-seat-installer. I can diaper a moving toddler. I can listen to the same CD 47 times still retain my sanity. I can get a lovey through the wash before its absence is noticed. I like laundry. The words "Some Assembly Required" inspire me. Crayoned walls fear me. About Myself: College grad, Early Childhood & Elem. Ed. along with English. From Summer Camp Staff to Lead Teacher in early childhood classrooms to Youth Program Staff in the public library, I’ve 18 years of experience engaging ages 0-16. In my 30s, I can bring to a job the calm maturity of a seasoned caregiver, a quality which occasionally manifests itself in toddler dance parties. I enjoy reading to kids, wondering and exploring with them. I'm a fan Read more of outdoor play and playground trips! Kudos & Discipline: Positive reinforcement, offering choices, listening to kids, allowing natural consequences whenever safe, and clear simple boundaries-- these are my go-to tools. I hold kids responsible and follow through on consequences, but I'm not authoritarian. I believe rules should serve people and teach independence, not vice-versa. Special Needs: Autism, Sensory Integration Disorder, Auditory Processing Disorder, Oppositional Defiance Disorder, ADHD/ADD, severe food allergies, gluten-free diets, Spina Bifida, Colic, Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD), and Strabismus. Parent recommendations of materials helpful to understanding the needs of their child(ren) are most welcome. Pets: Yes, please! Jobs with pets are welcome. In fact my friendly Mini Dachshund would love to come along, as a bonus. He currently has the kids in four different families in love with him! Your kids gain a formally trained “pet" who comes with no vet bills or extra work for you, just a fun opportunity to play with another dog and learn to be kind and responsible toward other creatures.  A dog-friendly regular position is a valuable enough “perk” for me in a that I will consider it more highly than wages. Clearances: I provide directly from the state a criminal history check through the PA State Police, clearance from PA's Child Abuse And Neglect Registry 'ChildLine,' and a driving record. Hours & Rates: Seeking FT, 35-45 hours per week, but will consider the right PT positions. I prefer to be paid "on the books." I'm open to discussion on these. Thanks for considering me!
