I began babysitting at the early age of 13, and had my first job sitting for two siblings, (boy-9 and girl-5) once a week for about two months. Because I enjoyed this childcare experience I went on to volunteer at a local children's museum (30 hrs total). At 14, I continued my experience at a summer camp for children with incarcerated parents and worked as a support staff member there for two years. My third year there I volunteered as a camp counselor where I was a co-leader of 6 girls for a week. I greatly enjoyed this experience and went on to tutor three children in math and English my senior year of high school. After graduating, and my first year of university majoring in Illustration, I spent my third semester of college I studying early childhood education and gained 5 credits. I have since worked as a nanny Read more for a 5 year old girl for nearly a year. I would come to her house once a week and spend time with her doing the games and outdoor play of her choosing, under my supervision, maintaining a safe and compassionate environment so her parents could have time alone to clean house, do grocery runs, etc. Now, at 22, I have recently been hired on as a camp counselor for a YMCA live-in summer camp. I decided to become a caregiver because I truly love interacting with and influencing children in a constructive and healthy way. I have a big heart for providing children with care and safety. I love having the opportunity to support youth by being a positive role model who promotes positive behavior. I know I would be a great choice for anyone looking for a caretaker of their children because I am a responsible, nurturing and alert provider who cares greatly about the well-being of the kids I watch over. Most importantly, however, I love to help kids have a safe and fun time while also giving their parents have the time off they deserve!
