I am a CPR trained nanny, having worked full-time in this capacity for 6 consecutive summers, and part-time outside of those months. During this time I been involved in countless aspects of care: the preparation of meals, transportation to and from activities and support of those activities, consistent reading, writing, and practice of analytical skills with each child, carrying out creative projects, supporting the child such that he/she fosters respectful and loving relationships with others, exercising decisive and comprehensive discipline when necessary, and helping each child cultivate important habits and perspectives, like honesty, empathy, organization, accountability, respect, and passion. I take seriously the big questions, the hard learning, and the inquisitiveness of the children I've worked with, understanding that learning to think and act on your own is both tough and honest.
