I am currently working as a full time nanny for a pair of families in the Graduate Hospital neighborhood of Philadelphia, but as the children reach preschool age and I transition to a part time schedule, I would like to begin building a relationship with another family in need of child care. As this is several months away, right now I am interested in meeting with potential families, particularly those families who need morning care and weekend sitting. I have been working for my current families for a year and have been nannying and babysitting for almost eight years. Over the years, I have cared for a wide range of children, from newborn to middle school aged, children with developmental delays and autism, siblings and single children. My most comprehensive experience is with infants to early school aged children and this is the group that I find most stimulating and Read more rewarding to work with. In addition to my time as a nanny and babysitter, I have also worked as a after school tutor, an elementary classroom assistant, and a camp counselor. These experiences provided me with the knowledge and skills necessary for understanding the emotional, social, and developmental needs of children and made me into a passionate, fun loving care-taker. I take my position as a care giver very seriously and strive to provide my employers with trustworthy, committed care at all times. When children are awake, I focus all my attention of them and refrain from outside distractions like texting. If children are napping or sleeping while I work, I prefer to stay busy by doing laundry, washing dishes, preparing meals, and other light housework. I am also comfortable with pets and willing to assist with feeding and walking pets while you are away. I am CPR and first aid certified and regularly refresh my memory of these topics. My current availability includes mornings and evenings Monday-Friday and weekends. Ideally, I am searching for a family who needs an additional 10-20 hours of care during those times, or someone who needs a back-up sitter to call for occasional care. I do have a reliable car, but I prefer to stay inside the city for work so I can be available on short notice and remain flexible.
