My friends always call me the “mom” of the group—my bag is always stocked with Advil, mints, tissues, and a phone charger and I’m always willing to help someone out. Being nurturing is second nature to me, but I also have a comprehensive educational background and real life experience. I will complete my bachelors of science in Public Health with a health professions concentration in Spring 2020. I took two child development courses, psychology, nutrition, 14 credit hours of Anatomy and Physiology, and a little bit of biochemistry. These courses have given me a deep understanding on how the human body works and how to properly take care of it. My education in science is useful in caring for children and older adults because I can apply my knowledge on bodily processes to my ability to help one meet their developmental needs. Additionally, I have four years of formal experience Read more caring for children and young adults ages two through nineteen. I am currently a Resident Assistant at an Assisted Living Facility where I work mostly in the Memory Care unit for residents with Dementia. I have also worked with children who have special needs as well as children with chronic illnesses such as Type One Diabetes. Lastly, I am a fantastic cook, creative, and able to engage in sports and physical activities with children and older adults.
