I have been both a nanny and camp counselor on and off for the past three years. I started working with kids because I think that kids are a lot of fun and as the next generation, they should be given every opportunity. As a nanny, I have taken care of kids ranging from four months old to five years old. The ages of the children I worked with as a summer camp counselor were between eight and eighteen. My responsibilities while I was camp counselor included leading various different activities throughout the day and providing care for my campers 24hrs of the day. Several of the activities I lead included various different sports, crafts (friendship bracelets, ect), and hiking. I was able to learn how to balance being responsible and having a fun time. In addition, being a camp counselor taught me how to plan ahead and put my Read more camper’s needs before my own. Being a nanny provided an opportunity for me to apply the skills I learned at camp on a smaller level. I used my creativity to come up with activities that the kids and I could both enjoy.
