Hello all! I am 19 years old and set to attend West Chester University as an English Education major beginning August 27th, and am not in school Tuesday’s and Thursday’s. Up until then, I am nannying for a lovely family of two boys aged 3 1/2 and 19 months. I have been with this family since the beginning of January and have LOVED my time spent with them. Prior I have babysat sporadically yet consistently for neighbors. Prior to nannying I gathered experience in high school where I taught a preschool class two different sessions — once as a student, and another as a teacher for my peers — and studied as a teacher assistant in two kindergarten classrooms for a year. Additionally, I took child development classes where I learned the developmental stages of children and each stage’s specific needs. I was singularly awarded the Child Development Achievemebt Award Read more for my work in my school’s program. Regarding childcare, I believe the best envionrnment for children is one in which they are allowed to blossom and grow freely, whilst maintaing a responsible and safe structure designed for growth. Some of my favorite activities in my work include reading — and teaching to read, literacy skills, creating educational games, playing outside (swimming, sports, hiking, exploring etc.) and arts and crafts. I have my own car that seats five and a clean driving record. I learned CPR and basic first aid through my high school. I have extensive experience with light housework, pet care, potty training and meal preparation (as I have been completely these tasks daily for my current family).
