My name is Anne Craig. I am 24 years old and sincerely love to work with infants and children. I am a Licensed Practical Nurse (2013 graduate of WACTC), and aspire to continue my education to gain a midwife assistant certification in 2015. My favorite time in nursing school was during my maternity rotation, when I was able to work in the nursery with the babies. many babies were sickly, and I took it upon myself to learn more about their needs. I have volunteered full-time for the past year and a half (since my LPN graduation) for a 43 year old mother and her baby daughter. The baby was born last April, and within days of the baby's birth, the mother was diagnosed with a severe bone disease that required five major joint replacement surgeries within the past year. Throughout these difficulties, I was called upon to be a Read more full-time nurse/caregiver to the mother and was also responsible from 5:00am-9:00pm to be with the baby and care for her every need. I cared for this beautiful baby as if she were my own, and nursed her through multiple sicknesses. Since the baby's mother was unable to care for her last year and for most of 2014, I have helped to raise her, feed her, discover her health needs, become her close friend, help her to talk, walk, play, etc. I have loved my volunteer position helping this family. I now am looking to broaden my horizons as this family is now being helped by their relatives. I would be happy to hear from you. I would love to offer my nursing skills in a home environment with family.
