Over the past 27 years I have had the privilege of caring for children between the ages of 3 months and 9 years of age. During this time I have enjoyed working with children in a childcare setting, as well as, administrating child care centers. My goals in working with children has always been to provide quality based care, that follows the nations best practices methods of care. My desire to provide the best quality care for children lead me to finish my Associates degree in 2008 and then my Bachelors degree in Early Childhood Education in 2012. This same desire leads me to continue to learn through various professional development classes. Some of these classes include CPR and First Aid training, health, safety and nutrition for young children, and most recently the Rhode Island Early Learning and Development Standards level I & II. Being a mother of two boys, Read more I am familiar with the raising children of my own, and understand the importance of a loving and nurturing environment. I believe children must first feel a sense of trust and acceptance for who they are. I demonstrate this through consistent and meaningful interactions geared for each child's age and development. I have come to believe that children learn best through play, and through play children are able to learn not only their ABC's and 123's, but also how to interact with others, and learn how to use their manners. Through play, children are able to use their imagination, develop a sense of curiosity, and explore new ideas.
