Hello, my name is Samantha and I am a recent graduate of Western Michigan University where I earned my bachelor of science in psychology with minors in both dance and integrative holistic healthcare. In September, 2015 I will be attending Salve Regina University in Newport, RI to earn my master in holistic counseling and expressive arts therapy. I will be moving to Newport, RI on September 8th to begin this new journey and would love the opportunity to gain new opportunities and share my passion for working with youth. I have a vast amount of experience caring for children in a myriad of differing capacities. I was exposed to child are at a young age through growing up with siblings that were 10 and 12 years younger than myself. Additionally, throughout high school I held varying babysitting positions for local families, and relatives. Currently, I work as a behavioral aide Read more at an early intervention autism center where I work on a one-on-one basis with clients, implementing programs to increase and improve social, comprehension, and communication skills I'm children diagnosed on the spectrum. In addition, I also hold a position as a dance instructor at a local dance studio. I have been teaching dance to students ranging in ages 2-18 for the past 10 years, which I believe is where my true passion for working with children began. Through this experience I have had the opportunity to not only instruct students in the studio setting on a weekly basis, but also coach them at regional and national competitions and dance conventions, as well as organize and lead multiple dance centered summer camps. I am certified through the Red Cross in children's CPR and first aid and have updated negative TB testing. I absolutely love kids and feel that caring for them is an extremely rewarding and fun experience. I am looking to finding a new and rewarding position that will bring an renewed sense of positivity and joy to my life.
