I have worked in 3 child care settings over the last 8 1/2 years. I was employed by a child care center for over 5 1/2 years where I mainly held a position as an infant teacher. I have also been a "floater", assisting in different rooms with various age groups (infant to 11 years) as was needed. During my years in childcare, I created and implemented lesson plans on a weekly basis (this includes infants as well). I conducted parent teacher conferences twice to three times a year. I also observed the children in my care and documented their developmental abilities and progress. I then used those observations to devise ways to improve upon their development and grow and thrive. I obviously performed all of the basic tasks that are involved with caring for children. These tasks include feeding, diapering, supervising, and occasionally bathing children. I also charted all Read more of their daily activities and happenings throughout the day on their daily sheets and interacted daily with the parents concerning their child's day and asked, as well as, responded to any questions or concerns involving their child. I have my CDA (Child Development Associate degree) specializing in infants and toddlers. Through this program, I learned different and more effective ways in which to watch, interact with, teach, and care for children. I have been First Aid and CPR certified (though I am due to renew those certification cards). I love reading to/with children, conducting fun and educational activities, engaging in artistic activities, teaching them new things about the world around them, and simply talking to/with them, interacting with them and sharing that emotional bond with each and every child in my care.
