Hello, My name is Whitney McCown. Presently, I am a Early Head Start Teacher for Scott County Public Schools Head Start and have been employed by them since July 2017. I have recently moved and need to find a position closer to home. Before teaching I was a Nanny for two wonderful children, ages 5 and 7 from January 2013- August 2015. Prior to this I was the Education Coordinator through Appalachia CARES/Americorps at the Reece Museum from November 2010- November 2012. I attended Lees-McRae College and have a Bachelor of Science in History with a minor in Art. I received a Child Development Infant & Toddler Certificate from Mountain Empire Community College. I also attended one year of a two year Elementary Education Certificate program at Virginia Intermont. I was not able to finish the program because the school closed.
