I have always loved being with children. I started babysitting when I was 12 years old. I married and had children of my own. I have worked in different day cares/schools taking care of children (South Vue, The Goddard School). As an accountant, I worked at Goodwill Industries in Pittsburgh and interacted with intellectual disability adults and teenagers. I enjoyed being with them more than my accounting job. That inspired me to return to University to become a RN. I worked as a PSA, Tech, and a NICU RN at Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh at UPMC for three years. I also worked as a Substitute RN at Trinity School District and Peters Township School District for elementary, middle and high schools.I worked for a high profile family in Pittsburgh for two years before moving to Nashville. I mainly took care of their 15 month old but they also had a Read more 3 and 5 year old I would care for when Mom was either at home or running errands. I traveled with the family for holidays and vacations. I also managed most of their house hold affairs. I have a letter of reference from them. I also watched my colleagues and friend's children. A fellow worker from Children's Hospital went into labor with her second child and I watched her 3 year old for the weekend until she was discharged. She was a RN and her husband an engineer. I watched their children for them on date nights because their families lived in other states. I also watched my next door neighbor's children for date nights and such. Lindsay is a lawyer at PWH and her husband an engineer at Kennametal in Pittsburgh. I use both families as references. I have personal and professional experience with children. I keep up with evidence base articles regarding children and what is best for them. I read what the American Pediatric Associations recommends for children. I am knowledgeable regarding children and the child development milestones for different ages.
