I am the eldest of 6 girls. I am from Washington State but moved to Alabama when my parents divorced when I was 12. I went to high school at Gulf Shores High School I graduated AP and honors. I also was in band and played the flute and piccolo concert season, I also was in color guard (flags) for the marching season of band. I moved in with my dad after graduation to start college. I have an associates degree in Early Childhood Education. I still would eventually like to finish up and get my bachelors degree. I have a passion for children. I found a job shortly after graduating where I was an Autism Associate. Which is a person who takes care of either children from the age 6 months - 18 years old, and the adults from 18 up. I worked with kids mostly. They either had Read more parents that would come visit and take them on home visits for the weekends. Some kids didn’t have parents so they never left therefore that was their home. I was the care taker and I worked from 5am-4pm or 2pm-10pm I would mostly stay from 5am-10pm because my house was 2 hours away from my work. I loved it , it was a home so it wasn’t hard to be there that long. I cooked breakfast , lunch and dinner for 5 kids all with severe autism. I also took them to school , doctor , speech therapy and gave them their meds. I LOVED IT WITH ALL MY HEART. I had to move with my family to Texas for my dads job so unfortunately I had to resign from the position after 3 1/2 years. I then started on to work as a teacher assistant at a learning center ( pre-k). I loved that as well. I worked with infants. I just love kids , and I am so happy that I am able to have this position. I have been doing insurance adjusting for the past 2 years and I am so happy to be back to doing what I love. Like I said earlier, I want to finish school because my ultimate goal is to be a special needs teacher.
