Hi, I'd love to chat and will make this brief. I have recently moved to the Austin area after having worked in foster care for the past 8 years in North Carolina. I live in a nice neighborhood and I am enjoying the warm Austin weather. I left the field of foster care to do something less stressful while also using the skills I have acquired over the years, only in a different capacity. I have been working with children since 1983 and was fortunate to have been a stay at home mom ( my children are now young adults). I have a heart for keeping children in their home environment when possible. Nurturing and protecting the heart of a child is a core value. I also believe it is important to respect parental rights and wishes regarding the care of their children. I am willing to run errands, do Read more light housework, go on outings and be creative with your guidance. Reading to your child would be a given. I do not use TV or games as a babysitter and will not use physical discipline even with your permission. I do not expect your child to have perfect behavior at all times. After all, they are children. I will use creative means to maintain a calm environment and a good attitude. Cat allergies prevent me from working in homes that keep cats indoors. No pit bulls (sorry) but other animals are fine. I am only interested in caring for one child, however, I would be more than open to hosting play dates with parental input and might make some exceptions. I'd be happy to answer questions and/or provide a resume which shows more details regarding my work background.
