I love being a part of the learning and growing experience for children, and the honor of being loved by a child is greater than many I have had in my life, including my personal achievements. I have known the joy of working with children of all ages since I first graduated high school and began working at a church nursery from 2007-2009. I cared for new borns up to 3 years, sometimes with as many as 6 children at once. This position lead to a series of private nanny positions, primarily with infants and toddlers, but sometimes preschool and elementary age as well, including caring for twin infants. My longest position was with a child starting at 3 months to almost 2 years when I had to move for a full time job. After completing my MS in Sociology in May 2014, I worked at a day school as a teacher in the 12-18 month classroom in San Antonio. I felt called to nonprofit/social service work and two years after the completion of my graduate degree, I'm now honored to work as a digital advocate for the National Domestic Violence Hotline in Austin. I'm eager to get back into childcare as a way to work towards a stronger financial future. I have twice been CPR and First Aid certified, and although it just expired, I'm happy to become recertified.
