I am currently a college sophomore at Texas A&M University, here in college station, and would absolutely love if I was given the opportunity to work with kids during this time. Throughout highschool I often babysat for children from families I knew, which included a steady nannying job for a 6 year old girl the full summer before I left for A&M. I also taught gymnastics classes to elementary aged students at a gym my senior year. I grew close to all of my students and knew I had to be not only a teacher, but a mentor. I have always felt I have a good connection with children. I love spending time getting to know them, because even if they are many years younger than me, I know I can still relate and even learn from them. I take great pride in keeping everyone I watch safe and would Read more be sure they were well attended to at all times. I was also accepted into the PALS program in highschool. We would visit our one assigned elementary school buddy once every week. My pal was a second grade class troublemaker with a huge heart. Ater all our visits were over I found that not only was my buddy's behaivior majorly improving, but that I had made an amazing friend. I know that any job I was offered here, I would enjoy, because I would be given the chance to be a mentor once again.
