I am currently a full-time nanny for a wonderful family but unfortunately they will be relocating soon to accept a new job. I have been caring for their six month old daughter since she was 7 weeks old. I absolutely love my job! My main responsibility is to take care of the baby first and foremost. I take care of her feedings and hygiene, play with her, take her on outings and to playgroups, and engage her in age-appropriate activities that will help her reach developmental milestones. I also monitor her sleep schedule and make homemade baby food for her. I have a handful of other responsibilities such as light housework, taking care of the baby’s laundry, watering plants, running errands, and occasional grocery shopping. My first priority is to provide an excellent quality of care for the child, my second priority is to make life easier for the parents. Read more Before I was working with my current family, I was a full-time nanny for a year and a half for a family with two children. When I started, the children were ages three and newborn. I loved working with them and watching both children grow! I believe that one reason I am an excellent nanny is because of the education I have received. I went to Wayne State College and earned my bachelor’s degree in “Early Childhood Education Unified Birth through Grade 3”. After completing this degree I obtained my Nebraska teaching certificate. I am certified to teach early childhood programs as well as preschool through third grade. While I do enjoy teaching, I prefer to nanny because it allows me to work one-on-one with children and really develop a relationship with them without having to divide my attention between numerous children. Another thing that I believe makes me a great nanny is the extended experience I have with children. I have been babysitting and volunteering in the church nursery for the past ten years. I have six years of experience as a summer nanny and three years of experience working in a preschool. I also student taught before completing my college degree and have since substitute taught for seven different schools.
