Hello! My name is Alejandra, but I go by Ale. I was born in Bogota, Colombia and moved to Dallas TX about 12 years ago. After finishing High School I wasn't sure what I wanted to do but I did know that it was going to be something related to children; I ended up getting a job as a nanny with a family in Dallas and fell in love with my job from the first day. Back then, I didn't have much experience other than the usual babysitting jobs here and there, but in the years since I have been a nanny, I have learned a lot about children care and development through hands-on experience and some college-level classes. In total, I have had two full-time long-term positions with two wonderful families that I learned to love, and helping those families raise their children from the time they were infants Read more has been the joy of my life. I am currently looking for my next nanny-family and I am excited to find the right fit, both for you and for me! I believe that a nanny must provide for mental, physical and emotional development in a child's care with the collaboration of the parents. Every child is different and the stages of development of each of these components are also different depending on the age of the child. For this reason, the caregiving skills that I can provide for, say, an infant, are different but complementary to the caregiving skills I give to the child when he/she becomes a toddler and later, a preschooler. In general, the caregiving skills that I can provide are: careful bath-giving and dressing practices, changing diapers and potty training, effective feeding transition schedules for infants, healthy cooking and wholesome nutrition, administering medicines with parents' consent if necessary, decision-making and problem-solving, ability to stay calm under pressure, communication and interpersonal skills, planning and execution of fun and educational activities, reliable transportation for extracurricular activities, proper maintenance of child's environment and daily log writing for parents' records and peace of mind. I would describe myself as an outgoing young woman who is eager to learn something new every day. I try to stay healthy and physically active, and this allows me to keep a high level of energy throughout the week. I am very organized and like to keep my home tidy, especially since I have three dogs! On my free time, I like to exercise, do yoga, cook for my family, bake pastry, explore new places, and play with my dogs.
