My name is Jessica and I am very interested in being a full time babysitter and forming a connection with a family. I am a 22 year old recent graduate from Gettysburg College in Gettysburg, PA with a dual degree in Spanish and Psychology. I have over 5 years of experience in child care including several years as a volunteer in a preschool, afterschool Spanish tutor, and camp counselor. I have experience with the preschool age group having taken a child development psychology class and volunteered at the preschool for the college faculty’s children last year for two hours a week (for up to 15 preschoolers at once). I love the energy and creativity of this age group and would love to do any activities your children are interested in. I also volunteered as a Spanish tutor for middle school students at an after school center (El Centro).  This was Read more particularly rewarding and I really enjoyed working with the 6th grade girl I was paired with over the course of two years. I helped her with her homework and played games with her until her parents got off work. I also volunteered for a summer at Camp Sunshine, a camp for seriously ill children and their families.  It was a normal summer camp, where we would take the children to activities and play games with the kids while their parents were in group sessions.  I have also done individual babysitting for families mostly with children in the age range of 5 to 10 years old.  This has been intermittent because I have moved a lot because of my military family but I would be happy to provide references. I have made my references available upon request because there is a significant time difference between here and where I have done most of my babysitting (Hawaii).  I would like to have the opportunity to give the family notice before they receive a long distance phone call, and see what time is best for them so they don’t get any midnight calls.
