My mother claims that ever since a young age children have always been drawn to me. I began working for the YMCA after graduating high school in 2006 as a camp councilor in Lewisville. That's when I feel in love with youth development. I worked for two years as a councilor executing daily activities from fine arts, physical fitness, science experiments, swimming, and chaperoning field trips. During my second summer I was promoted to Camp Director due to my ability to communicate with parents, staff, and children. As well as my natural ability to lead large groups. After finishing five years at the University of North Texas, where I attended on an athletic scholarship and studied Rehabilitation and Family Development, I moved to Kansas City to work for the Greater Kansas City YMCA. I was promoted to Site Supervisor after a few weeks and ran a program at a local Read more elementary school. Once again my leadership and drive shined through and I quickly was recognized as a top employee by my supervisors and peers. In February of my first year there I was named one of 15 individuals to be a camp director for the summer. Before the school year was over I was informed that I would receive another promotion by the start of the 2012-2013 school year to be a Site II supervisor. During that time my passion for helping youth and personal development really began to grow and I decided to move back to Ft Worth to earn my teaching certificate. I hope that I can use my love of softball and youth development together and coach at a high school in my community. The Greater Kansas City YMCA required 60 hours of continued education each school year as well as offered weekly workshops to continue to educate and grow their employees. I have been First Aid, CPR and Distribution of Medication certified for many years. Although I have zero years experience as a Nanny I have 8 years experience working with kids from new born to high school aged. From small groups of 3 (while working in the infant room at the preschool) to large groups of 200+ (while directing local camps). I have ran programs from before and after school to softball camps.
