Education: - Bachelor's Degree in Family Studies from Abilene Christian University - 12+ hours of child development training - CPR certified I have always known I wanted to work with children, even since I was one. I have always felt most comfortable being nurturing, compassionate and caring. So as I grew up I sought opportunities to live this dream out. Since I was about 12 years old I have babysat for families in my community and in my own family, I have 17 nieces and nephews that I have helped raise. I have gone to seminars, taken classes and read books on child development, how to raise children, and teaching/learning objectives. In college, I spent time working with many various age groups. I taught 4 year olds in Sunday school, I worked with middle and high school students preparing for college, took part in an internship with middle school children Read more in foster care, and spent a summer nannying for a family of 3 children ages 1 - 7. For the past year and a half I have taught in Early Childhood Development centers, planning and implementing curriculum, managing a classroom of children in numbers up to 9 at a time, organized/presented activities and learning opportunities, built relationships with children and their families, while holding parent/teacher conferences discussing the children's development stage and competencies. It has been a huge learning process for me, and I have truly developed a heart for caring for and teaching children. My hope in looking for a family to nanny for, is to become part of the family. I want to use my time to be of influence for the children, and provide opportunities of growth in all areas of life.
