I am currently RETIRED. I am the mother of a 32 year old son. I am a grandmother, godmother, grand godmother, aunt, great aunt and all around caretaker. I am FIRST AID, CPR AND AED certified. I am the seventh of thirteen children, so you can see I have taken care of children at some level most of my life. I have one child of my own, and also raised one of my nieces. I have a host of nieces, grandnieces, nephews and grandnephews that I have taken care of during my life and I really do love children. I majored in Psychology in college and have a good grasp on how to lovingly relate to children. *** note*** even though I chose "some college" on Professional Skills, it did not allow me to put the Name of the College unless I then choose, Bachelors, masters, or PHD. So I Read more selected Bachelors, However I have 114 college hours. I have my college transcript indicating these hours for your review. I have also worked as a substitute teacher in the Grand Prairie Independent School district. I was placed on many school's "Preferred Substitute List", for my ability to relate to the children. Some were even labeled "problem children", but somehow I made it all work out. I approached them in a way that made them want to do the right thing for me, instead of what they were usually expected to do. So if you're concerned about leaving your child in my care. Don't be! I can assure you that if you and I have the opportunity to meet, any anxiety you might feel will be put to rest. Then you can go to your place of employment and do the best job you can, because you will have the assurance that your child is in loving capable hands. Can't wait to meet you!
