Meet Minette

I am a graduate from the University of Houston. I majored in Psychology with a Minor in Business Management. I also have training in CPR and First Aide. For a long as i can remember, taking care of children has been a passion of mine. Even at a very young age, i remember my neighbors, and family friends trusting me to watch over and babysit their children just because i was so great with them. I am always involved in a church and with every church family that i become a part of, I am sure to join the Sunday School teachers team. The process usually begins with me shadowing a teacher for a few Sundays, then taking over a class on my own. I sometimes teach the children on Wednesdays during Mid-week services and also on Sunday morning services. I teach children of ages 2-4 years old, and 5-7 Read more years old. My activities with the children typically includes reading bible stories, singing, dancing, memorizing scriptures, and many more. The groups have contained as many as 10 children at a time. I was also a part of The Change Happens Organization here in Houston, TX. Change happens is a non-profit organization that offers young children mentoring, and also provides extracurricular activities that they could get involved in after school. In 2012, i was presented with the Mentor of the Year award from them. These are just a few of my many experiences working with young children. All this to say that taking care of children is something that i completely enjoy. Children are full of joy and humility and I love when i am presented with a chance to have an impact in a child's upbringing.
