Hi! I have been a nanny in north Austin for about 10 months now, and before that I gained 1 year experience working at 2 daycare's, one in Waco (where I'm from) and the other in Stephenville where I attended Tarleton State University. Also, while at Tarleton I observed children at the university's center as a requirement for my Child Development class. Currently, I am 24, and a junior in college at TSU studying Family and Consumer Science with a concentration in Child and Family studies, as well as a minor in Psychology. It is my goal to go further in my education with a Master's in Counseling. I will be taking online classes this fall as well as the spring. Currently, my responsibilities as a nanny consist of house work, running errands, grocery shopping, some cooking, taking care of the pets, and taking care of the baby. I'm kind Read more of a clean freak and enjoy cleaning and keeping the house clean (dishes, sweeping, etc.) along with doing the child's laundry. I'm very dependable and trustworthy and respectful with things that belong to others (credit cards or money when sent to run errands, furniture, possessions) and I enjoy running errands and grocery shopping. I also enjoy cooking meals and preparing snacks/food. I have my own vehicle and am capable of getting around just fine. Being a live-in nanny is not required and I would like full time (35-40 hours) Qualifications: - CPR and first aid certified and trained - Certified Teacher's aide - Certified substitute teacher - 2 years paid experience with children - Several years volunteer experience with children through babysitting, church nursery, local library, and family - Child and Family studies major/Psychology minor -attended the national child life conference in May -child development -lifespan of the family -SIDS training -child abuse awareness Things about me: - Non smoker - No profanity - Health conscious (gluten free/low fat/ no carbonation!) - Always moving (cleaning, feeding kids, doing laundry, etc.) - Gentle with children. I redirect or explain why we do something this way instead of that way, I do not yell and or get upset, they are children and still learning just like you and I. - I love menu planning - currently, I make most of my nephews food allowing it to be organic, other than that we buy organic food him. - I am very comfortable with animals, I treat them like just like kids.
