I have worked with children for over 20 years. From nanny, coaching, Sunday school teacher, counselor, and houseparent for abused and neglected children all over the country. Working with and for children is my niche, it's where I feel most comfortable. I help with potty training, teaching to read, going on adventures, and playing sports. I worked for a doctor and their family for over 5 years, then decided that I would love giving back so I currently work as a houseparent for over 5 years. I have my CPR, First Aide, Fire safety, Medical training for giving meds, crisis intervention, anger management, team building, food handlers, love and logic, behavior modification. With all the training it has allowed me to help see a need and meet it. Example: one girl 6 years old was being very aggressive and this just wasn't like her. The more attention I gave her Read more the more she calmed down. Most people would have put her in time out. Talking with the parents, they gave her a special day just her and them, she was right back to herself. I love to teach manners in a fun way, as well as learning I'm creative. Example: going for a walk I would ask the 3 year old find me all the threes you see while we are out. He found them on the mailbox, curb, and even counted 3 cars in a driveway. I'm a empty nester and would love nothing better than giving of myself to another family. I am only an extension of you, what you want done, I will do, from healthy snacks, meals, to taking pictures so you don't miss anything. I enjoy every aspect of being with children, nothing to hard when it comes to doing what you love.
