I have more than 20 years of experience working with children from infant through 11 years old. I have enjoyed being a part of the children’s lives from infancy until they are ready for school. In these 20 years I have worked for only 2 families. I make sure the children get to their after school activities, get some quiet time for homework, and time for play. I have put together learning centers based on the age of the children. I understand the needs of young children and enjoy helping them grow. I work closely with the parents to be sure that I am meeting their expectations. As the children have grown older I have taken on more and more household management activities. While teaching pre-school I completed professional development courses in the following areas: child development, autism, and working with children with special needs. Some of the children in the Pre-school had special needs and with this certification I was able to put this knowledge to work. In both Pre-School and Kindergarten I developed curriculum and planned the lessons. I pride myself in taking responsibility for teaching very young children who have been in my care. I worked as a teaching assistant in a marine biology summer camp, where I interpreted the science lessons for younger children. Combining education with the care of children is very important to me and my ability to take content for one age group and interpret it for younger or older is something I have enjoyed. Aside from my long experience, I enjoy being with children. I have a special and deep understanding, patience, and love for children. I am diligent, extremely observant and meticulous in tending to their needs. Your children’s safety, comfort and happiness are really important to me. Children are my passion. I am a Filipina and U.S. citizen. I am certified in adult, child and infant CPR. I also hold a California driver's license, and a pet lover.
